Dr Tarr offers transarterial embolisation for musculoskeletal pain, genicular artery embolisation for knee osteoarthritis, and TAME for resistant tendon and soft-tissue pain such as frozen shoulder, tennis elbow and plantar fasciitis.

These suit patients with persistent pain who want to avoid or defer surgery, or who have not responded to conservative care. Dr Tarr is glad to co-manage with your service.

How to refer

Sending a referral

Electronic referrals are received via Medical-Objects, address to Tarr Radiology (Dr Gregory Tarr). Referrals can also be faxed or emailed to reception.

For the Medicare rebate on your patient's consultation and treatment, a referral must be signed and dated and include the patient's details and your provider number. A standard GP referral lasts 12 months; specialist referrals, 3 months.

Closing the loop

  • Your patient is offered an unhurried consultation in Brisbane or Ipswich
  • Dr Tarr confirms suitability and discusses all options, including surgical and conservative ones
