How to refer

Sending a referral

Electronic referrals are received via Medical-Objects, address to Tarr Radiology (Dr Gregory Tarr). Referrals can also be faxed or emailed to reception.

For the Medicare rebate on your patient's consultation and treatment, a referral must be signed and dated and include the patient's details and your provider number. A standard GP referral lasts 12 months; specialist referrals, 3 months.

What happens next

Closing the loop

  • Your patient is offered an unhurried consultation in Brisbane or Ipswich
  • Dr Tarr confirms suitability and discusses all options, including surgical and conservative ones
  • You receive clear correspondence after consultation and after any procedure
  • Care is shared, Dr Tarr complements your management, he doesn't take over the patient
